Paintings that I really like....

Hi Steve,

These paintings are some that I saw during the downtown gallery crawl on Friday, and I really liked them a lot.  Of course, the price tags on them were way beyond me, but the free POSTCARD of each one was a great price.  They are by an artist named Thomas Bigatel..."Movement in Multiple Dimensions."

They have depth, layers, movement, musicality, flow, softness, almost a watery quality, as though you're swimming in seaweed or something like it....they are really very beautiful....(these photos do not do them justice).  I just wanted to share these with you, because of my last blog entry, where I said I don't think I could ever paint anything as great as this.......but, I might still give it a try, just to see what happens.

I like both of these, for different reasons. This bottom one reminds me of snorkeling in Hawaii, over in the Diamond Head beach in Waikiki, with the wavy seaweed and plants and coral reef all around...(I nearly drowned when a huge fish with TEETH came out of nowhere and made me scream)....scared the living daylights outta me...I took the damned mask off and sat on the beach, too scared to go back in.

The top one is like a sunset, warmth, above the sea, just caressing and moving slowly all around you. Makes me think of roses...soft petals...being wrapped in a huge warm hug...

Anyway, those are just my thoughts on this kind of art. I like it a lot...every time you look at them, you see something brand new, and that's very cool if you ask me.

It's kinda like listening to a Journey album again, after many years of not hearing those songs....
ya know??

*WINK*  (Yeah, I know you know).  Hope you like these paintings too.

Timeless music is timeless art, and both of these things cleanse and feed my soul.

Just like they cleanse and feed yours.

Love, Rebecca
