Monday...back to the daily routine...

Hi Stephen,

I hope you had a nice weekend doing whatever you love doing, with whomever you love doing it to!!

Pete and I had a very enjoyable and relaxing weekend away, mostly shopping at a mall, eating in restaurants, and lounging in the bed and breakfast room, enjoying some very good nooky.  It was nice to be away for awhile, even if it was just a short weekend.  Now it's back to the normal, daily routine with the mom's.  SIGH.

The whole time we were away, Pete's mom decided to let her "evil twin" out, and pretty much aggravated my mom constantly, trying to pick a fight with her, arguing, being bitchy and rude...I really think she does it on purpose, because she's upset that Pete and I are gone.  Alzheimers is tricky, you never know what might trigger the "evil twin."  I told my mom the same thing that she told Florence----we may hire a nurse to be with her when we go away, from now on, especially if she behaves badly or treats my mom like crap. My mom shouldn't have to deal with that kind of abuse, even if it IS "part of the disease."  I'm sorry, but a person still knows right from wrong, even in the midst of a disease.

Anyway, I'm trying to get caught up on housework and unpacking and all that jazz, so I'll have to write more tomorrow.  Pete got his haircut, after having it grow long, nearly down to his shoulders.  He said, "But now I won't be long-haired like Steve Perry...will you still love me?"  I said, "Ya know, if Steve Perry were BALD, and didn't have any TEETH and never sang another word in his LIFE, I would still love him....and the same goes for YOU."

It's true.
