Happy Birthday to me. Bleah.

Dear Steve,

I am lying on my sister's basement family room couch, in the same exact space where I found myself displaced after 9/11, and I'm thinking about my 44th year being overwith as of today. My 45th year is now beginning.

I scrolled through Facebook tonight and my great aunt posted photos of the Twin Towers on 9/11 too, and I watched a tv show all about a bank robbery in Washington DC that exploded and turned horribly deadly for many people.

Needless to say, I've got a lot on my mind at 12:33 a.m., and in 5 short hours I will once again be spending an entire day in the car, driving back to Pittsburgh from Michigan.on my birthday.

Pete asked me today if I wanted to go to DC this coming weekend to see the cherry blossoms again--they hadn't bloomed yet 2 weeks ago.

My answer, based upon all the clues from the cosmos this evening, is no. I pay attention to things like that. Things that seem random, or coincidental, really aren't. So patterns do emerge when you start noticing clues like that, and they lead you to decisions or choices that matter. Just something I learned about life a long time ago.

Today I told Neal Schon off on Facebook. I was nice about it, but disagreed vehemently with something he wrote and told him why I feel it was wrong. It will most likely go in one ear and right out the other with him, of course, but I felt that I had to at least make an effort to TRY and toss some logic and reason at him at least one time.  I will copy and paste the conversation to this blog when I get back home...can't do it on my iphone.

I should be sleeping but I had an unsweetened iced tea and a sugar -free vanilla "liquid crack" iced coffee from McDonalds on my way up to Michigan, so the caffeine is keeping me awake.

My friend Laurie had a total blast this week--best week of her life she said. I will write more about it this week. I learned a lot about myself while she was here, and about her too. We have both changed so much over the years.

Well I will go for now but I hope you had a nice Easter holiday and I will write again either tomorrow evening or Wednesday.

Love, Rebecca
