Last night Pete took me to see Dane Cook in concert. He's a funny dude, and I have loved him for years. You might appreciate one segment of his routine, which he performed last night...he took out a guitar, and mixed several genre's and groups together, and one of the songs was "Don't Stop Believin."
His point was, "nearly all rock and roll songs have this very same riff in them...." and he proved it by starting out with singing "Don't Stop Believin," and then switching to "Glycerine," and then he switched to the theme from Sesame Street! It was HILARIOUS!!
Somebody with a brain that works in such a way, is someone I find as being truly gifted. I mean, he wasn't making FUN of the song in any way...he was just pointing out that the same sort of tune was played in each one, which probably NOBODY ELSE has ever put those 3 songs together before, in order to compare. Quite funny really!
Ah well, if I could figure out how to play the darn clip for you, I would. You'd hear it for yourself and probably get a giggle out of it. Heyyyy, I think I just figured it out....give it a try!!
And here I am, at the end of the performance, meeting and greeting two other comedians who performed with Dane Cook last night....Jay and Al.....(www.funnyAl.com)....
Anyway, just wanted to say I will be gone this weekend, and probably won't have time to sit in front of a computer to write to you until we get back on Sunday night. It's the big rally in DC weekend, and I've got a ton of things to get ready today so that we can pack the van tonight and be on our way in the morning.
Have a good weekend Stephen...and know that you are truly loved, admired, and thought of as truly great---even Dane Cook thinks so!
