Hi Steve,
I just got home from the Giligan's Island Musical cast party with Pete and his daughter & son-in-law. Here's a photo (above) of me, looking out the hut window...wearing my Gilligan t-shirt & hat of course.
Here I am without the hat on, and you can see the t-shirt better.
I really wanted to take one of these huts home with me, they were so cool! I would love to have one on our porch, and use it for our anniversary party one of these years. (We had a Gilligan theme at our wedding reception). But, alas, we tore them all down after the performance. Then we all had a cast party at one of the performer's homes afterwards.
Yes, of course, here I am with the star, Gilligan (Brody), before the stage got taken down. The director, (Nick) is in the background, with the girl who played Ginger...not sure of her name though.
And here is Brody with Pete as Gilligan and the Skipper together. All in all, the audiences loved the play, the cast had fun with it, and everybody left the theater very happy for a good 2 weekend run.
Pete wants to get ME in on this stuff, actually, he thinks I would be a very good actress. I have never been in a play in my whole LIFE though, so I think I would be kinda freaked out being on a stage. Although, I used to play on a stage with my flute in the symphonic band all the time, so who knows. It has been a very long time since I've done that. But he thinks I should try doing set design stuff, and props. I kinda like that idea, so we'll see.
Well, I am off to bed. My throat is STILL hurting me, dammit, it's getting on my nerves. I feel like there is a lump in my throat, so it makes it hard to swallow. I just gargled with warm salt water though, I hope it helps. I felt really bad this morning, but managed to get through the day. I'm coughing a lot too, but it's not a productive cough, just an annoying one that hurts my throat even more. Sigh. I told Pete if he EVER gets me sick again like this, I will have to kick his ass.
Hope you enjoyed your weekend doing whatever it is you love to do. Oh, by the way, I got absolutely NO TAKERS on the Steve Perry help-out-a-fellow-fan-in-need idea. Buncha boneheaded people. So, I didn't actually ask Lora about it either. My mom and Pete both said that it would become "too complicated," and the potential for corruption would be too great. Sigh. It's sad that we live in such a stupid world like that. I really thought it was a cool idea. But hey, I'm just a hopeless dreamer.
Well, I'm off to la-la-land. Goodnight to you, Stephen. HUGS!!!
Love, Rebecca
