By the way, Pete says that Nick Lowe once sang a song in the 70's entitled "Marie Prevost," who was a real Hollywood actress in the 20's and 30's, and he told me that "her dog ATE her when she died, because nobody found her for weeks afterwards."  He played the song for me, and it was rather morbid in the lyrics, but an upbeat tune at the same time.

I had never heard of it.  I'm not even very familiar with Nick Lowe.  (I hate being so young and ignorant sometimes).

I looked up Marie Provost on Wikipedia, and actually the dog "nipped at her legs to try and wake her up," and she had been dead only two DAYS when they found her.  She was only 38 years old, and her estate was worth only $300.  She was an alcoholic, and obese, and her heart gave out.

So whether Nick Lowe was exaggerating, or just plain wrong about his factoids in the song, I don't know.

And "Cruel to be Kind" is another upbeat ditty-song that you bob your head and have fun dancing to, but the message seems to have a dark underside of Dominance and submission to it....intended or not.

I guess the more things change, the more they stay the same.  (I thought this whole concept of a fun ditty song like "Pumped up kicks" with lyrics about shooting people was NEW).

HA!!!  I really need to get out more.
