Hi Stephen,
I hope you had a really nice birthday today!!
I'm listening to Pandora, and there is an awesome group that you may (or may not) have heard of...it's Sharon Jones and the Dap-Kings. It's kind of like Amy Winehouse, a retro-sounding funk band, and they are REALLY COOL. I thought you might like to give them a listen sometime, so there ya go.
I have been using Pandora since it first started, and LOVE IT LOVE IT LOVE IT....I used to listen to it all day at work, and I have an Etta James station, so I've been listening to that all day while painting the master bedroom. I got the room half done with the blue so far, so it's getting done slowly but surely.
Well, I just wanted to share that info with ya. You know much more about music than I ever will, but in case you have never heard of this group, it's really worth checking out.
I am really REALLY gonna miss Etta James. SIGH. I loved her music so much. My grandpa got me turned on to her, and to Ray Charles, and all kinds of black artists (Stevie Wonder, Sarah Vaughn, Ella Fitzgerald, etc...), mostly from the 50's and 60's....he turned me on to jazz, R&B, funk, and everything in between. I think of him every time I hear this station on Pandora. He would have loved Pandora too, I think. I miss him a lot too.
I remember he took me on one of our "dates," once, to a record store. I was 12 years old. He told me to pick out any album I wanted, and he would buy it for me. It took me an hour, but I finally decided on the Bee Gees.....he rolled his eyeballs at me and said, "Ewww, ARE YOU SURE THAT'S WHAT YOU WANT?!" And, silly me, I was convinced that it was great, so he bought it for me, (reluctantly), but he kept showing me these other albums by those artists and tried to get me to change my mind!!
I was really born in the wrong decade, I'm convinced.
Happy happy birthday to you, Mr. Sexy Troubadour....oh, and the State Farm t.v. commercial was hilarious, by the way, with "Anyway You Want It" being played....that was shown on the same channel as the football game, and Pete called me down to see it....then I found it on YouTube and put it on my Facebook page. Cracked me up!!! I never thought I would ever hear a Journey song on a t.v. commercial like that, I thought you hated that idea?! Ah well, you probably made more $$ from THAT than you would from my silly Journeyopoly game idea, amIright?! SIGH.
Bye for now.
Love, Rebecca
Ever wanted to talk to your favorite famous person, even if he or she is unavailable/unapproachable in real life, or dead and gone, or just not even possible to have a real conversation with? Who doesn't?! Well, so do I. So, I am going to chit-chat with the Main Man, my favorite singer in the entire world, Steve Perry, on this blog, just for the hell of it!! I'm a writer after all, so that's the kind of thing I like doing. Keeps me outta jail. *WINK*
Mmmm sexy...

The man is a gorgeous sexy BEAST!! I just want to eat him up!!
