Super Bowl Sunday...

Hiya Stevie baby,

I hope you'll have a fun day watching the game.  I'm not too enthused about Madonna, she's never been one of my favorite people, though she is from Michigan.  She's all hype and gimmick, and made women look slutty and objectified too much for my taste.  (Sure, I have my moments of wanting to be slutty, but that is NOT a 24/7 scenario for most women, and to make it SEEM like it is, rubs me very wrong).  She doesn't even sing very well, if you ask me.  Not much musicality in her voice, it's all just too nasal sounding and flat, as in, not very much depth to it.  One-dimensional.

Ah well, that's just my opinion.  What do I know.  SOMEBODY out there likes her enough to pay her a bazillion dollars, so maybe I'm wrong.

Well, the decision has been made:  I am GOING to DC on Thursday, and I'm GOING to visit with my friends at the Museum, and I am GOING to pay my respects to my friend Mike.  I just called to RSVP.  Whomever might have a problem with me being there, frankly, can kiss my lily-white ass.  Both cheeks.  To hell with 'em.

My friend Rachel wrote, "Nobody even KNOWS you anymore..." (when I told her my concerns), and I laughed and said, "Sheesh, thanks a lot, THAT'S comforting."  But, the more I thought about it, the more I figured, I've never allowed anybody to stand in my way of anything I wanted to accomplish in my life, so why do that now??  The people who gave me grief don't matter to me anymore, (never really did), so I'm going, and that's that.  If anybody gets in my face about it, I'll just kick 'em in the balls.

We've arranged to have Florence go to an assisted living place nearby to spend the day there.  It's really more of an evaluation on the staff's part, to see if she would fit in there well, (it's got all Alzheimer's patients there, the whole place is devoted to that), so eventually she may end up living there permanently.
Until that happens, though, we're having the nurse come in 5 days a week from now on, which is a HUGE relief for me.  I was fine with 3 days, but 5 is awesome.  The burden and heaviness on my shoulders has been lifted a bit, and I'm not feeling as stressed out as I have been for so long.

So anyway, I'm off to do other things with Pete today, we have to make a trip to Costco, and then put some shelving together in our newly painted bedroom....we moved furniture around last night too, it's starting to look really nice.  I'll be glad when it's done.

Hope you enjoy the game, and have a fun Sunday.  The sun is shining here, it's in the high 40's temperature-wise, and life is good.  Bye for now.

Love, Rebecca
