Ever wanted to talk to your favorite famous person, even if he or she is unavailable/unapproachable in real life, or dead and gone, or just not even possible to have a real conversation with? Who doesn't?! Well, so do I. So, I am going to chit-chat with the Main Man, my favorite singer in the entire world, Steve Perry, on this blog, just for the hell of it!! I'm a writer after all, so that's the kind of thing I like doing. Keeps me outta jail. *WINK*

Happy 9th birthday to my dawg, Sassy!!
(I took a somewhat blurry photo on my iPhone today, trying to balance that silly hat on her head, while she munched on her birthday bone...and yes, those are her 2 boxes of stuffed animal toys behind her....hehehe...she's still my spoiled rotten baby, no matter how old she gets).
Hello Stephen,
House update: Talk about a friggin' roller coaster ride...I've been a wreck all week. Last weekend, our realtor called to say that somebody else made an offer on the house we love, and it threw us both into a major panic. We currently have a month-to-month lease on the house we're renting right now, BUT, on Monday, our landlord asked if we could vacate in 60 days because he wants to sell THIS house too, and can't do it while we're living in it. NO PRESSURE, right?! My head very nearly exploded.
So last night, we got together with our realtor to go view 3 other houses--just as a Plan B in case the one we love goes to the other people---OTHER PEOPLE LIVING IN MY HOUSE!!! AAUUUGGHHH!! Ahem...but anyway, the other 3 houses sucked, as I knew they would, but he was on the phone with the other realtor who represents the home owners of the house we love, and apparently they could not come to an agreement on price, so the deal fell through, and there is now NO OFFER on the table at all.
Now, I'm a skeptical little girl, and I think of realtors just as though they were car salesmen. Could it be that they worked together to try and pressure us into making an offer, before we're actually ready to? They both know we're interested, they both know our situation and why we're waiting, and yet they both seemed to have this scenario happen a bit quickly, don't you think? Mmm hmmm....ya never know.
Anyway, so by the end of our viewing those other 3 houses, we were relieved that the offer didn't go through and we can still pounce on it....BUT....we're buying the house with CASH. Who the hell wants to deal with banks anymore? So, we've got MOST of it, we're just short by $20-$30K.....so we're now scrambling to bug everybody we know to borrow whatever we can---OR---Pete will dip into his 401K. We don't want to do that, and we're going to be house poor for awhile, but dammit, we WANT that house, both of us, (not just me). So, we promised we'd do everything in our power to try and get it. If they don't accept our offer, however, we are screwed, and homeless, just in time for my 43rd birthday.
So that's the scoop. Friday we are sitting down with our realtor, we're offering everything we've got (including borrowing from his mom's savings...which he's going to get into trouble for doing), but we've got no real choice...so, once the offer goes to the family who owns it, they just have to accept, and we're packing our stuff to get out of here in 60 days. If they DON'T accept it, (as we fear), then we're short any other $$ and the deal might not go through. So I am on pins and needles, I've never been through this shit before, buying a house is stressful!!
Well, I've got a roast in the slow cooker, an 89 year old naked woman in the bathtub upstairs waiting for me to scrub her hair, and then my mom has to go to the doctor, so I've gotta scoot.
Bye for now. Love, Becky
