I've been looking through photos of myself, to share with you....so here are some....
This is me, and my dog, Sassy. I rescued her from the dog pound when she was 1 month old...she's 9 years old now...I think she might be part Shiba-Enu, but I'm not sure. All I know is, she rescued ME too. I love her like she's my baby!!
This is me, in a rather risque' dress, for New Years' Eve...I got several compliments...I just wish I had less body to stuff into it...oh well, I'm pleasantly plump I guess. What can I say? More cushion for the pushin', my silly singer man buddy, more cushion for the pushin'. Seriously. Would you rather hear a soft "puh puh puh" of a slightly chubby chick, or a noisy "clack clack clack" with a skinny chick while bangin' her bony ass skeleton?! Skinny chicks are sooooo overrated.
And this is me, with my DC Dom-boyfriend, Peter. It's the only photo I have of him and I together. I probably shouldn't put it on a blog, but it's been 4 years since I've seen him, so I'm sure he's moved on and forgotten all about it, and me. He doesn't know about this blog either. In the photo, he was escorting me to the Holocaust Museum's Holiday Party. This is the guy I've been trying to get over, since I left DC. He may not look like much, but he rocked my world in more ways than one for nearly 3 years.
This is back when I had a professional job at a ritzy Museum, with my hair done professionally, my nails done, makeup, etc....which I miss doing sometimes. I'm just a bland ole frumpy housewife now.
Here is Nesse Godin, my favorite Holocaust Survivor, and I, at the Holiday Party. She calls me her "daughter," because she says I look very similar to her real daughter. I love her so much! She got her G.E.D. when she was 73 years old, because she was 12 when she was sent to a concentration camp and 16 when she was finally liberated. She missed a lot of school. She survived 4 camps and a death march. Luckily she was reunited with her mother and brothers, but her father was killed by the Nazis.
And this is Manya Friedman, my other favorite Holocaust Survivor. She was in the ladies' rest room one day when I was escorting a blind girl there. I introduced this blind girl to Manya, and the girl suddenly burst into tears. She said, "I may not be able to see you, but I heard your voice in the Testimony Film at the end of the Exhibition, and your story...you have made my trip to DC worth every moment." Manya and I have been thick as thieves ever since then. I love her very much too. You can see my eighth-note faux diamond broach pin on the left...I've had it forever.
This is my African "son," Ben. He lives in Ghana. He had just gotten off the train at Union Station. This was the first moment we met in person. Years ago, he wrote a letter to the Holocaust Museum, asking for a pen-pal in America. I said, "That's cool, I've had pen-pals all my life..." and my coworker handed the letter to me, and said, "He's yours," and suddenly I had adopted a 13 year old boy who didn't know much English. He didn't expect to continue on with school after he graduated high school, but with my encouragement and some financial assistance over the years, now he's 24 years old, and a college graduate. I am very proud of my son!! He's been to DC to visit me & Pete also. Love that kid!!
Well now...ahem...this was a "surprise" for Peter, my DC boyfriend-Dom...I got all gussied up, with my vinyl thigh-high boots, black velvet lingerie, boa, and fishnet gloves & a collar. I was trying (too hard) to look sexy. But hey, he loved it, so it was worth all the work. You can see on my neck, a charm on my "collar" necklace that he gave me...it's got 2 real rubies and an emerald...a cherry. This is the necklace that Pete felt he had to compete with, when I first moved here to be with him, and doesn't want me to wear anymore. I still have it in my jewelry armoire though.
You want some cheesecake?! You got it. I had some sexy photos taken for Pete as a surprise for Valentine's Day, by a friend of mine (Tim in DC) that I once dated briefly. Pete loved it...& I had fun too! This kinda looks like I've got no legs...but I was on my knees. I just wish I could TAN.
And this is the chick who played "Cissy," the oldest sister on the 70's t.v. show, "Family Affair." Ya know, I had her name in my head 2 seconds ago, but it's gone now. GRRRR. That was one of my favorite shows when I was a kid! I still have a Mrs. Beasley doll too. I met her in San Francisco at a comic book convention with Pete, on our honeymoon! She was GREAT!
I've also got photos of me with Carlos Mencia, Rob Zombie, and several other celeb's I've met over the years, I'll have to dig those out for another time.
So, SEE, Mr. Perry? I have met many famous people and VIPs, and even been with them in photos before, without ANY issues or problems. I've never sold them to tabloids either, ya poop!!
It's your turn to be in a photo with me, dear Sir. Get over here!
So, there ya go. This is me. Hope you enjoyed them.
Just wanted you to know that I'm real, and the things I tell you here are real, and true.
I look forward to writing to you every day. Bye for now.
Love, Rebecca
