Hello Stephen,
Well, we have finally finished moving everything from the old house, and we got it all cleaned up before we walked through with the home owner to turn in the door keys. He was very impressed, and it was a huge relief to finally be DONE with that old place. I am so glad to be in the new house finally, feeling a little more settled. But, we've got 3 huge garages FULL from floor to ceiling, of all our stuff. It's ridiculous. But, now we can take our time and get things unpacked, sorted, and ready for a huge yard sale in July. At least, that's the plan.
We are only 10 days away from CAMPITY CAMP CAMP!! I can't WAIT...it's a 9 day excursion in the Maryland woods, staying in a cabin with other couples, eating awesome food at a mess hall, and if it ever warms up and STOPS RAINING, we can go swimming in the heated pool all day, every day, NEKKID!! Ohhhh there's nothing like camp, lemme tell ya. If you have ever heard of "Hedonism Island," well my friend, that's very much what Camp Crucible is too. (By the way, Hedonism Island is on my top 10 list of where I'd like to travel someday). If you've never HEARD of Hedonism Island, then wow, you need to get out more!!
Anyway, it's going to be so relaxing and fun, and enjoyable, and every year everybody who goes counts down until the day it begins. Seriously, there's this huge "camp drop" feeling after it's all over, and you have to go back to reality surrounded by vanilla people and wearing clothes and stuff, that really depresses a lot of us, and so we start counting down until next year. But, while camp is happening, it's a BLAST!! I hope they let me be one of the "taxi" drivers (golf carts), because I've never done it and it looks like fun. Everyone who attends camp has to volunteer a couple hours every other day to do something, like help in the mess hall, or work at the HQ building, or set up various events, and stuff like that. I have worked in the spa before, giving manicures and pedicures, but mostly I like just doing set up of events, and hopefully this year, the taxi.
So, during the next week or so, I've got a LOT of unpacking, furniture moving, and cleaning to do around here. I also bought some paint, so we can get started with that little by little as well. Today, however, I woke up with a charlie horse in my right calf that I thought would have to be amputated, it hurt so damned bad. My whole body hurt, all over, every muscle, bone, joint, you name it, I was in major ouch-ville, and my chiropractor helped me by cracking me all over the place, (he calls it "realignment," but I call it torture), and then I came home and crashed for a 3 hour nap. I am just beyond exhausted. The good news is, I've lost 5 pounds with all this moving, but holy CRAP, all THAT to lose a measly 5 pounds?! You've gotta be kiddin' me! That's just too much for such a little return on investment, if you ask me. Hmph.
Well, here at the new house, the 2 mom's and I have been enjoying watching the family of 7 deer (and a newborn fawn) walk around the back yard and the neighbor's back yards, stretching up on two hind legs to eat leaves off trees, (I've never seen them do that before, very cool), and I've taken several photos of them, but alas, the photos are on my phone, and I don't have the thingy to hook up my phone to my mom's computer in order to share them with you right now. I promise to do that soon though. We just need to FIND stuff, and unpack it, before we can really return to "normal."
My friend Annette sent me an article from a Michigan newspaper, about a Journey tribute band called "Don't Stop Believin'," and they got raving reviews, saying several times, "The lead singer sounds JUST LIKE Steve Perry..." which made me smile. Nobody strives to have a tribute band with a Steve Auigeri sound, do they? Heh...nope. So that made me chuckle, and send you a silent blessing like I do several times a day whenever I hear your voice on the radio. I say to myself, "thank you Stephen," or "God Bless You Stephen," whenever a Journey song is playing near me somewhere. So, you are blessed a lot my friend, by me, and millions of other women who swoon when they hear your voice.
Anyway, I am looking forward to your new album, and hopefully a tour...please come see me in Pittsburgh if and when you do tour next time, okay? I really want to give you another hug!! I love ya, you big lug.
Bye for now. Hope you have a good week, and keep workin' on that new music!! YOU ROCK!!
Love, Rebecca
