Hi Stephen,
Have you ever watched an old movie and wanted to reach in, grab the person and tell him or her what's going to happen to them later on in life, or with their career, or how well this movie will be received, etc? If only we could do that, and help change things for the better.
I felt that way this morning, actually. You were helping me exercise---yes, you---because I walk on the treadmill and watch music DVD's....Pete's favorite is Rick Wakeman. I, however, decided to watch the Live in Houston 1981 Escape Tour DVD....again....and every damned time I watch it, I get chills and I also want to reach in and grab you, and tell you to SLOW DOWN, TAKE IT EASY, STOP RUNNING AROUND SO MUCH, you're gonna wreck your HIP!!!! I want to reach in, smack him upside the head, and tell Neal that he's going to be in big trouble with women later on, too.
I sometimes feel like reaching in and yelling, "PLAY SOMETHING FROM FRONTIERS!" But, haha, that hasn't even been created yet in the time/space continuum, so I know it's not possible.
Ya know, that was the tour that I wanted SO BADLY to go see in concert, but I was only 12 and my mom said I was too young to go to a concert like that. GRRRR. At 16, I asked her again when you guys came to Detroit, but she said I was "too young to go to Detroit, it's too dangerous for young white girls." So I had to wait until I was 18, but by then, all that was left was Raised on Radio, so I missed out completely on seeing Steve Smith....and I didn't care for Randy Jackson then, either....who the heck was HE anyway?! But, okay, he did a great job, so I let him slide. (I like him much better now).
Anyway, sometimes I just wish I could reach in to the screen, and tell the people in it what's going to happen later on. Ya know??
I gotta scoot.
Love you lots....have a great day.
xxoxo Rebecca
