I am back in the 'burgh after 4 days in Michigan. I tell ya, 4 days is about all I can handle. It's a rather depressing place, to say the least. The weather was decent most of the time, but we had 2 thunderstorms and my poor dog was a mess. She gets so scared! But, I made sure to make it up to her by taking her to the Lake, and letting her swim. We used to go to Lake Michigan all the time to do that, when she was a puppy, and she loves it. The water temperature was about 72 degrees though, so I just waded a little. Too cold for me.
There were signs all around "No animals on beach," (which is something new, actually, because this area of beach is now owned by the state, and has become a state park). But, I said "Screw it," and let her swim anyway. She was just so hot and miserable all day long. But she was thrilled here, swimming around all happy-go-lucky! I love that dog.
We stayed long enough to see the sunset too. I miss seeing that every day. I really do.

Laurie and I and her mom and sister, and friend Roy all traveled to Manistee for some fun at the casino while I was home too, and much to my surprise, there was a live band and apparently they do impersonations of other bands...suddenly I heard JOURNEY, and I ran over there to video tape it. I think this has got to be one of the lamest impersonations of Journey that I have ever seen in my life. You can hear me giggling in the background, because all the people on the dance floor seemed thrilled, and were lovin' it, while I was utterly dismayed the whole time. I mean, the WIG ALONE that the guy was wearing looked NOTHING like your hair!! It was just sad.
I kept thinking, "Yep, leave it to Michigan to mutilate my favorite band." Just another negative thing to add to the reasons why I would never live in Michigan again. (I keep a mental list of these things).

I don't know if the damned link will work or not, stupid thing. I have the worst time trying to upload videos from my iPhone to save it on the desktop computer, it tells me I have to trim it shorter, I can't send it in an email to save it otherwise. I can't copy it from Facebook either, the whole thing is there but it won't allow me to just copy and paste or save it and put it here. Very irritating.
But there ya go, there's a piece of it anyway. Kinda lame. But, it was funny to see all the people dancing and thinking it was so great...they had no clue just how lame it really was....

YOU MUST GET BACK UP ON THAT STAGE AND PUT THESE IMPERSONATORS BACK OUT OF BUSINESS----WHERE THEY BELONG!!

Sure, imitation is the most sincere form of flattery, perhaps, but it is also SAD to see so many people who don't seem to MIND that it's not really you. I think I must have been the only one.
