Pete and I are off to New Jersey this weekend for his 35th high school class reunion! We may stop at Hershey Park on the way tomorrow, not sure.
I just began working on the project that I mentioned to you before, the "Journeyopoly" board game! So far it is going pretty well, I think. I just wish I had a longer block of time to sit down and do it, rather than 5 minutes here, or 10 minutes there. But, I hope to have it all finished before I get to meet the boys of Journey at the end of August.
Anyway, here is a photo of it so far...and instead of "Community Chest" cards, or "Chance" cards, I'm creating "Die Hard Fan Cards," with trivia questions about the band, the songs, tours, albums, etc. The object of the game, I think, (still trying to put it all together), is to pass "Go" and every time you do, you won't get $200, but you WILL get a tiny "album" to collect...of course, all the discography will be available for the player to choose from. The player who gets the most albums (without other players taking them away as they land on a certain square) AND answers the most trivia questions correctly will win the game. So, that's the concept at least. I haven't quite worked out what I want to put on each of the squares of the board yet. As you can see, I'm sort of getting inspiration from an actual Monopoly game, that I have nearby for reference. Keep in mind, I've never done this type of game before. I DID make a fun game for my coworkers at the Museum, though, years ago, and everybody loved it. But, this is all new to me, and I want to make sure I get it perfect.
Oh, and here's a photo of the uncle Pete never knew....the one who died in 1941 while teaching a rookie how to fly a plane in the Air Force. He was only 22, but wow, what a good lookin' guy. So sad. I wish I could somehow open up that photo to that very moment and tell him what is soon to happen to him, to help save him somehow, ya know? He'd be almost 90 years old now too, if he had lived.
Well, I'm going to bed now, it's late and I'm exhausted. I got my hair done today...colored and highlighted, and trimmed...it looks quite nice...got the eyebrows waxed too...bought a new dress, got some new jewelry...yep, I'm all set to be the "trophy wife" that Pete has always wanted to bring to his high school class reunion! (He didn't date much in school, kind of a shy "computer geek" type of guy).
I hope you have a great weekend, I will think of you often, and I will be sure to write to you as soon as I can. I cannot upload photos from my iPhone, but I can definitely write to you....if I have time....but if I don't, you'll be sure to hear from me on Monday! Now get busy and get that album done!! *KISS*
Love, Rebecca
