Hiya Stevie baby,
How are you and Miss Red Dress doing? I hope all is well! Heyyyy, I've got JUST the thing to put her "in the mood!!" (As IF you couldn't do that on your own)...LOL....(blush)......well, anyway, for what it's worth....
I've not yet located the CD of all the "rarities" that I once had, of Journey songs that you don't hear much. But I did find that my favorite CD mix is still on the computer....in fact, I'm listening to it now....I made this CD mix many years ago, but I STILL love it. I just mixed some Journey love songs with Neal Schon's solo stuff, mostly from "Late Nite." It's got a nice flow, and it's incredibly romantic.
(I betcha if you let this Red Dress chicky of yours listen to it, she'd melt into a puddle...) WOOOOO!! 'Cause that's what it does to ME. Makes me all gooey inside, and lovey-dovey...mmmm....yeahhhh...
If you listen to these songs in this order, you'll see just how awesome they all FIT together, perfectly, into a sexy, romantic and comforting CD. Maybe you and Neal should put something together for REAL like this?? THAT WOULD BE SO DAMNED AWESOME!!!
Planting a seed...that's my favorite thing...a hobby, I guess. I plant it simply by suggestion, then I stand back and watch, and sometimes--not always, but sometimes---it grows into something awesome. So I am planting this seed into you, my friend, with love.
Seriously Stephen, I absolutely LOVE this CD a lot, I never get tired of it, and it makes me feel calm, happy, and peaceful when I listen to it. (In fact, I often listened to it in DC while driving...and stuck in traffic jams on the beltway). It helped keep the ugly "road-rager-within-me" a lot more quiet and subdued.
Here's the order of songs on my CD mix...
Majestic - Evolution
Good Morning Girl - Departure
Neal's "Late Nite" album - Le Dome
Opened The Door - Infinity
Neal's "Late Nite" - Late Nite
Neal's "Late Nite" - The Theme
Neal's "I on U" - Urban Angel
Stay Awhile - Departure
Neal's "Beyond the Thunder" - Call of the Wild
It's Just The Rain - Trial By Fire
Neal's "Late Nite" - Softly
Sweet and Simple - Evolution
Neal's "Late Nite" - I'll Be Waiting
Faithfully - Frontiers
Neal's "Late Nite" - Steps
Yeah yeah yeah, so I put 8 songs from Neal on it, and only 7 from Journey---so change it if you don't like that---but I tried to be as fair as I could. This CD is rather long-playing, actually, so if you ever DID put together a project like this with Neal's solo stuff, well, I'm sure you'd have to edit this list down quite a bit to make it all fit on a one-hour block. I broke up the monotony a bit with "Urban Angel," and sure, there are 3 Neal songs in a row...but I wasn't sure if I wanted to add "Open Arms" in the middle of it, because I might have ran out of time to burn the last song, and I like the way that last song kind of wraps things up into a nice package, of "tah dah, hope you liked this, thanks for listening."
So CHANGE IT AROUND if you like, but I think the order of songs works together very well. It's your prerogative, though! MAKE IT SO, and I would love it no matter what. JUST DO IT!!!
I mean, I'm tellin' ya, I listened to this CD whenever I had a bubble bath with candles lit all around....I listened to it when I was alone mostly, and feeling a bit sappy....or if I needed to relax....I've even made copies of it for both my ex-Peter, (we had our first "session" at a hotel with this playing in the background).....and I made a copy for my current hubby Pete, too...because if he DIDN'T like this music, (which pretty much explains MY personality a LOT), then I would have probably NOT dated him for very long. I'm tellin' ya my friend, this thing has been THE MOST LISTENED TO CD of ALL that I own of Journey, of your solo stuff, and of Neal's put together.
So, think about it, and give it a listen.......just spend an evening putting this together for yourself, and take a listen....then tell me what you think!! (I'll just pretend you will...'cause I know you WON'T, ya bum).
I'm going to go enjoy it awhile....it's been a long time since I've had an hour to myself to just sit and do nothing, and listen to it, so I'm very happy that I found it again. Just wanted to share it with ya.
Bye for now.
Love, Rebecca
Ever wanted to talk to your favorite famous person, even if he or she is unavailable/unapproachable in real life, or dead and gone, or just not even possible to have a real conversation with? Who doesn't?! Well, so do I. So, I am going to chit-chat with the Main Man, my favorite singer in the entire world, Steve Perry, on this blog, just for the hell of it!! I'm a writer after all, so that's the kind of thing I like doing. Keeps me outta jail. *WINK*
Mmmm sexy...
