Kevin Chalfant...a good guy.

Hi Steve,

I don't know how well (or even IF) you know Kevin Chalfant...but, he is a friend of mine.  In fact, we had a chat today on Facebook about politics.  I copied it for you.  He made me cry at the end when he mentioned his sister Melva though.  I miss her and love her so much.

I will be gone later this evening to Cleveland again, for a dungeon party, (yes, we go there quite often...Pittsburgh doesn't have a dungeon anymore unfortunately)....and tomorrow we're going to a Comic Book Convention...I might actually get to meet the people who played Cindy and Peter Brady on the Brady Bunch...(to go along with Mike Lookinland, who played Bobby, whom I met last year!), and lots of other celebrities are going to be there, including Billy Dee Williams!! Yum...he's a sexy beast.

Then Sunday we're going to a Home and Garden Show, to get ideas for landscaping and home improvements, etc., which I always enjoy a lot.  I hope you'll have a great weekend....Love you lots.

---Rebecca

Here is the conversation I had with Kevin on Facebook today.......

Rebecca
Ya know, ya gotta kinda wonder...the Republicans CAN'T be all THAT stupid, right? I mean, do you ever stop to wonder if perhaps they are just deliberately ACTING stupid and SAYING stupid things to GUARANTEE another 4 years of Obama?? Sometimes it's easier to fool the masses with REVERSE PSYCHOLOGY than anything else. It's a proven political strategy, actually. In fact, GW Bush used it ALL THE TIME..."Mission Accomplished."

So, if you ask me, nobody should really be outraged. Let them KEEP Rush Limbaugh on the air as far as I'm concerned, and let him KEEP calling women sluts when he disagrees with an issue that they comment about, and they can let Santorum KEEP spewing stupidity about women and education every day for the next 6 months---because come election day, they will inevitably ALIENATE more than HALF the population of WOMEN WHO VOTE, and seal their own fate, paving the way for another 4 years of a man they secretly respect, and wish to continue as President.

Maybe---JUST MAYBE---that's what they are trying to achieve. But this way, it SEEMS like they are totally against him, doing all these stupid and crazy things, and that way, they keep every precious dollar in their Super PACS. AmIright?? Stranger things have happened in this world folks. I lived in DC for 10 years. I've seen this type of thing before. Think about it.

Does this look or sound familiar? Hey Everyone...WE NEED TO BE HEARD! I am a member of golf’s lower 99%. I am an indifferent golfer, and there’s no way I could ever make it to the professional level. I will never put in the practice time to be the best. I will never have the shots, skills, or mental toughness to “make it” in the sport. I just never felt like working all that hard at it.

However, I am a part of the golfing community and, as such, feel I should be paid by the top 1% of golfers for what
I do. It isn't fair that those players who have worked harder, have studied the game, have better equipment and are more skilled and dedicated should make all that BIG money. Where's my share? I’m a Victim!

The top 1% should pay for my club memberships and green fees and lessons, buy me new clubs, balls, clothes and shoes, and pay me some of their winnings. They can afford it. They are “The Rich.” The whole system should be changed to accommodate people like me. I think we should get together and occupy a golf course and demand that those who are better at what they do, pay for us who generally suck. Whining should get us something - maybe we'll make the cover of Time Magazine, garnish some public sympathy. Hell, during this election year we may even get a law or two passed by legislators who want our votes.
p.s. Don’t mention this to tennis players. We thought of it first.See More

    • I do get your point, Kev. I'm just playing devil's advocate here.

    • Kevin Chalfant There is something very sinister going on in our country right now and I would only blame the Republicans... Someone has to take the blame for the Democrats... who will that be Beck?

    • There are more than just 2 sides to every issue, including some bizarre off-the-wall ideas from outta nowhere, like this might be. Ya really just never know.

    • Read Leonard Piekoff's "Ominous Parallels," (he was the life long partner of Ayn Rand), and you'll se how this "sinister" stuff has been going on for the past 3 or 4 decades.

    • Kevin Chalfant Ok, if that's the best you can do... we will have to live with the out come...

    • I'm more libertarian than anything, Kev. I see the evils in both parties, and having ONLY 2 parties is the biggest problem.

    • Kevin Chalfant EXACTLY!!! So why do you always blame Republicans? and why don't you take Barrack by his own words that the Constitution is holding him up...?

    • What I am NOTICING are the bizarre TACTICS they are using. That is what I comment about. That is what I notice most, because THE MEDIA is showing it to us constantly.

    • The Constitution is being ABUSED by both sides.

    • It's almost like watching a playground full of kids, ya know? The ones who are winning the game are harassed, hounded, bullied, and yelled at by those who know they are losing the game. I think the whole mess is ridiculous. Wanna move to Canada with me?!!

    • Kevin Chalfant Have a wonderful day Rebecca... by the way. I wouldn't be so sure about who's winning at this pouint.. But you're right. It is entertaining. huh?

    • I would call it more dysfunctional and negative than "entertaining." I love ya Kev, thanks for the debate. You're a good guy and no matter WHO ya vote for, I respect you a lot.

    • Kevin Chalfant Hey Rebecca I respect you too. Thanks for treating my sister with such love and being a true friend. She really appreciate you and your girlfriend appeal.

    • I miss her so much...I hope you liked the photos I sent to you.

    • ....and SHE gave ME a refreshing way of looking at things, SHE taught ME how to play devil's advocate about politics, and SHE always had a new way of thinking that I admired very much.
