The crazy week of storms and hats...

Hi Steve,

This has been a rather crazy week for me, I hope yours is going well.  I was amazed last week at the TES Festival that my 4 mini hats actually SOLD, for $30 each!!  So, I am now making 20 more for the next event coming up in August.  Needless to say, I'm surrounded by all sorts of craft items like ribbon, lace, feathers, jewelry charms, etc., and so far I have made 6.

Tonight I'm having a "help clean the house" party, (with one person attending, our friend Julie), to get ready for the REAL party on Saturday.  The Pittsburgh Bridge Munch is having their play party here, and so far there are 30-40 people coming.  We are hoping the weather stays nice, it's been storming all week and trees and power lines have been down, plus our road has been ruined with pot holes everywhere.  Sigh.

We plan on having a cookout, and then people can go in and play on our dungeon equipment if they want to.  I told Pete he had better make every person who attends sign a waiver of liability, just in case anyone gets hurt while they are here.  I don't trust anybody.  One stubbed toe and we could be sued and lose our house.  I'm not gonna play.  Sign the waiver, or go home.  Simple as that.

Anyway, Pete is the social butterfly type, but I'm not.  I'm more of a loner, anti-social, introverted, and I get easily overwhelmed when it comes to doing things like have a party like this.  So, our friend Julie has agreed to come over this evening to help with setting up the tents and other stuff outside, and clean the house a bit with me, (it's a huge house and I do my best but there are times when I just can't keep up with it), plus I am going to make some potato salad, cole slaw, fruit pizza, and fruit salad to go with the hamburgers and hot dogs we are cooking on the grill.

Well, last week was fun!  Pete and I left here on Tuesday evening, stopped somewhere halfway to New Jersey to sleep overnight, and then drove the next morning to New York City, where we spent the afternoon seeing Times Square and Phantom of the Opera.  Here we are, being silly in Times Square:

And OF COURSE I had to wear my "Don't Stop Believin'" T-shirt!! You know it!!

Then we headed to the TES Fest event hotel, and got settled in a day early.  It was nice to take over the whole hotel, we could all swim naked! And the pool was open 24 hours!  Gotta love that!

Pete spoils me rotten, though. We ended up getting 4 new corsets for me!  Holy crap!  Usually, if I get one at all, it's only ONE.  But, the company that I get them from most of the time is Steel Bones, and she (Shelly) is awesome.  She had a huge sale going on, so we took full advantage of it.  Because we bought so many, she even gave me a $25 gift card!  Woo hoo!  I love corsets!!   There is also another place that I get them, and it's through Ebay, it's Victoria's Big Secret, and they have inexpensive and GORGEOUS corsets for all sizes.  I also like Hips and Curves, but they are somewhat overpriced.

Anyway, I got a pretty purple with black lace overlay corset dress, a pirate black underbust corset with green embroidery, a pink and black underbust corset, and a pretty light pink with white ruffles and lace. Here I am in my purple corset dress.....now, add my black silky gloves, black stockings, snazzy heels, and make up!!  I put on a black bolero jacket too.  The necklace, I bought at TwoAngels.com.

Then, Miss Gabrielle who runs TwoAngels.com jewelry had a table set up, and WOW her stuff is absolutely STUNNING.  I got 4 sets of necklaces and earrings.  I love that style, very blingy!  She is really great too, she GAVE me, free of charge, a necklace for my mom, just because I bought so many.

Well, then we had fun playing a card game called "Cards Against Humanity."  Have you ever heard of it?  It is really easy to play, and FUNNY as hell!! You have to have a twisted naughty sense of humor to really make it fun though.  One thing I learned, that I had never heard before, is a man's "taint" area underneath his genitals is often referred to as the "Fleshy Fun Bridge." HAHAHAHAHAHA!!!

Ah well, that was my favorite funny of the evening.

I guess I'd better get busy cleaning this house a bit, (please don't misunderstand, we do NOT live like slobs---the house is MOSTLY clean all over, BUT it needs vacuuming, bathrooms need cleaning, etc.) So I'll get as much done as I can, along with moving some furniture around, before Julie gets here.  It's kinda like cleaning the house before the maid service arrives!! hehehe  I'm just weird that way I guess.

Well, I hope you had a fun week, and a great Fourth of July.  We had a nice time visiting Pete's friends from elementary school (Chuck and Dave), and we saw Dave perform in "Les Miserables" too.  Here is a photo of Chuck, Pete, and Dave all together.  Dave had to grow "mutton chops" on his face to play the police officer Javerd (?) in the play. They all grew up together in the same neighborhood and went to the same schools, so they have been friends forever.

So we had a very nice, and relaxing time away.  Now it's back to business as usual.

And if these 20 hats sell at the next event (Floating World), I may just START my own business!! I'm tellin' ya, Stevie baby, these mini hats of mine are VERY popular out here in the east coast!!  YAYY!!

Oh, and I hope you're feeling better, getting rid of the melanoma scare...and getting over Kellie too....but with her, I know that is something that will never happen 100%, though, and that's okay.  Keep loving her.  She would still be loving you too, and probably still is even now.  I do hope you'll find someone that you can spend your life with though, you've been single WAY too long.

Hey! Whatdayaknow!!  I just so happen to be available!!! (Yeah yeah, disregard the wedding ring, Pete will share me!!)  Seriously, he really would!!

Bye for now.

Love, Rebecca
